The popularity of OpenAI’s ChatGPT is putting users who want to try out the AI chatbot on their smartphones at risk of losing their hard-earned cash.

While we’ve seen fake ChatGPT apps spreading malware in the past, a new report (opens in new tab) from the cybersecurity firm Sophos has revealed that app developers are also creating fake ChatGPT apps to trick users into paying for expensive subscriptions.
